I'm sure not many of you have tried millet before. Millet porridge is a perfect way to start your day healthy. It is a gluten-free highly alkaline grain-like seed and it is full of nutrients your body needs.
It is a very good alternative to traditional oatmeal porridge.

Makes 4 servings.

Method

Place the millet in a sieve and rinse it well under running water. Pour some boiling water over it.

Bring the milk to a boil in a saucepan, add the millet and stir it around. Cover the saucepan with a lid and continue to simmer on a very small fire for 15 minutes. Then switch the fire off and let it rest for 10 minutes.

In the meantime prepare your fruits and nuts, cutting them into smaller pieces.

For serving, add 2 tablespoons of maple syrup to the prepared millet, stir it around. Divide the millet porridge in your bowls, add some greek yogurt on top, arrange some fruits and nuts. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 500ml of milk of you choice (I prefer cow milk, coconut or almond)
  • ½ cup of dry millet
  • 2 tablespoons of maple syrup

For serving: fresh/dry fruits and nuts of you choice, greek yogurt.
