I like this apple cake very much because it only takes a few minutes to prepare and it tastes delicious!

You will need a round cake tin with a diameter of about 20cm or 8 inch.

Method

Preheat the oven to 180° C ( 355°F) / fan oven 160°C (320°F).
Line the round tin with baking paper.

In a big bowl mix all the dry ingredients.

Put half of the flour mix on the bottom of the tin, covered it with apple sauce and put the other half of the mix on top of the apple sauce.

Cut the butter into thin slices and cover the flour mix.

Bake it for 1 hour or until golden.
After 15 minutes take the cake out and make quite a few small holes, using a toothpick, all the way to the bottom of the cake. This will allow the butter to penetrate down to the bottom of the cake.

Serve with a scoop of ice cream.

  • 200g cold butter
